All lessons are taught in person at Piedmont Piano Company in Oakland, CA.
Billing
Weekly recurring lessons are billed monthly and must be paid in advance. “Pay-as-you-go” arrangements can be made at my discretion.
Biweekly recurring lessons are rare, but may be scheduled at my discretion.
I accept payment by Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, cash, or check. Please make checks payable to Brandon Ahlstrom.
Rates
Discounts
Trial discount: New students will receive 30% off their first lesson. This discount may only be used once per student and cannot be combined with other discounts.
Family discount: Family groups enrolling more than one student will receive 10% off their total monthly invoice.
Early payment incentive: If you pay your monthly invoice in full on or before the first of the month, you may take 2% off the invoiced total.
Income-based discount: I strive to make my services accessible to all. If you are unable to afford lessons at the rates listed above, please contact me to discuss a lower rate. This discount is not guaranteed.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason, we will try to schedule a makeup lesson. If a makeup lesson cannot be scheduled, you may receive full or partial credit depending on the amount of notice given.
In order to receive full credit for a canceled lesson, you must notify me at least 7 calendar days in advance. Cancellations made between 48 hours and 7 days in advance will result in half credit. Cancellations made under 48 hours in advance will result in no credit. Exceptions may be made under rare circumstances at my discretion. (Conversely, if I have to cancel a lesson for any reason, you will always receive full credit.)
Credits will be applied automatically to the following month’s invoice. Please specify if you prefer to receive a refund to your original payment method instead of a credit.

Disclosure of my relationship to Piedmont Piano Company. I am not an employee of Piedmont Piano Company. I pay rental fees to Piedmont Piano Company in exchange for access to their studios and equipment. As such, my availability is subject to the studios’ availability. When making scheduling requests, please allow time for me to coordinate with the studio manager.
